Accounting at the Goodman School of Business has a national reputation for excellence. In fact, Goodman was recently re-accredited to the master's level by Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) Ontario under the new national CPA accreditation standards.
If you want a career as a professional accountant, know that our program is designed with the rigorous academic courses and professional orientation the CPA designation demands.
Accounting co-op at Goodman prepares you to complete the work experience necessary to obtain the CPA designation, including a public accounting licence. Obtaining the CPA designation requires 30 months of professional work experience. Our students work in a wide variety of locations throughout Ontario and acquire 16-20 months of
work experience prior to graduation. Visit brocku.ca/ccee/co-op-education for more information.
Once you have received your BAcc, in either the co-op or non-co-op program, you will be ready to prepare for the Common Final Exam (CFE) by entering the Professional Education Program (PEP) offered by CPA Canada. If you prefer a faster track, you can choose Goodman's CPA Pathway.
The Goodman CPA Pathway -- fast, cost-effective, complete.
Goodman provides one of the fastest tracks to the CPA designation. When you take our Bachelor of Accounting (BAcc) and Master of Accountancy (MAcc) programs, you'll learn everything you need to proceed to, and be successful on, the Common Final Exam (CFE). The course material covered in the MAcc is identical to the course material covered by the CPA PEP modules.
Once you complete the CPA-PEP program you will have covered the same material offered in Goodman's MAcc and will be ready to take the CFE. Visit cpaontario.ca for more information on the CPA-PEP program.
